The Lord Hardened Pharaoh's Heart Exodus 4:21, Exodus 9:7

Exodus 4
21 And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those awonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine bhand: cbut I will dharden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

Exodus 9
7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.

Does the Lord cause people to sin by hardening their hearts?

No! emphatically no. People harden their own hearts by wanting to go against gospel teachings, by listening to half and someimtes even untruths. We also harden our hearts by not going to church, not studying the gospel, not reading the scriptures, and not praying. Sometimes we stop praying because of a little sin, and it excalates because we don't repent.

Look at the JST whenever you quote Old or New Testament. It states, "And Pharaoh hardened his heart..." not the Lord. That might answer your question more conclusively.

My tone is sometimes unclear in these posts. The questions I ask are sometimes just to instigate thought. Sometimes of members of the church and sometime for those that are not members of the church and sometimes for both.

Reading the verse makes me question and then reading other translations of the Bible is what instigated logging it as an error in the Bible.
